The Night the Stars Fell

by A Writer

The Leonids returned last night.
Even the nightclouds couldn’t hide the intensity of the stars.
Meteors and fireballs lighting up the dark  grass and blankets
with coffee and cakes of friends who wait.
Stars fell on my roof as I got lost in my book and headsets.
Stars fell and I slept…
Couldn’t care much. The Leonids are not you.
